Historical fiction recommendations?

I read Geraldine Brooks’ Year of Wonders a few months ago and decided that I was going to try to re-discover historical fiction. It’s always been one of my favorite genres but I keep letting it slip and then it starts seeming dull again. But a few weeks ago my class finished reading Arthur Miller’s The Crucible.

And I want more. I’m going to continue with Geraldine Brooks, but any other suggestions are appreciated. Also, may God bless anyone who recommends a genuinely interesting, popular science or other interesting non-fiction book.
