"Like I said, Tweet ‘em. Tweet ‘em. They’re all Tweeting all over the place. Tweet ‘em back."
-President Obama, telling students at a rally at the University of Colorado how to get Congress’s attention.
My dad and I were watching this a few minutes ago and we started cracking up at how cute Obama was when he said this.

“Why is Obama wasting his time making a TUMBLR ACCOUNT when there’s so many other important things in the world? We’re in war! We’re in debt! We’re unemployed! We’re starving! We’re protesting! We need him to fix things and he’s goofing off on the Internet!”
Et cetera, et cetera. Why is this all over my dash? I thought I was following intelligent people.
Here we go.
It’s not a personal account. Obama is not writing the posts. The blog says right at the top, “This is the Obama 2012 campaign’s official home on Tumblr.” It’s a campaign promotion. It’s a marketing tool, basically. He has whole teams of people whose job is to promote him online. If at this point this team didn’t make a Tumblr, I would have been surprised. It doesn’t mean that he’s wasting time reblogging things on the internet. It means he and his promo team are trying to maintain a certain image in the face of a lot of opposition especially coming from the Tumblr crowd (cough, Occupy Wall Street, cough). Don’t worry, he’s still getting his work done.

By the way, Obama is on Tumblr.
For any poor souls who missed that.

Obama’s war record …in one place
Among other things, since taking office Obama has:
- Started a covert, drone war in Yemen
- Started a war in Libya without congressional approval
- Escalated the war in Afghanistan
- Sharply increased drone attacks inPakistan
- Continued the occupation of Iraq, in spite of saying otherwise
- Escalated the proxy war in Somalia by launching drone strikes
- Sold $60 billion worth of weapons to Saudi Arabia
- Secretly deployed US special forces to 75 countries
- Signed an agreement for 7 military bases in Colombia
– Touted nuclear power, even after the disaster in Japan
- Opened up deepwater oil drilling, even after the BP disaster
- Did a TV commercial promoting “clean coal”
- Defended body scans and pat-downs at airports
- Signed the Patriot Act extension into law
- Continued Bush’s rendition program…Oh.

High ResolutionWas President Obama nearly given up for adoption? According to newly released papers from what was then the Immigration and Naturalization Service, the President’s father told an immigration officer that his wife, Ann Dunham, was arranging an adoption for her unborn child. Full story: Father spoke of having Obama adopted
This is so intrusive. What if Obama didn’t himself know - and this was how he found out? I feel kind of offended by seeing such an intensely personal story in the news.

This article, from the New York Times, mentions neither spying nor terrorists. And yet, the Fox Nation headline of the day. From the New York Times:
“Alarmed by a shortage of primary care doctors, Obama administration officials are recruiting a team of “mystery shoppers” to pose as patients, call doctors’ offices and request appointments to see how difficult it is for people to get care when they need it.
The administration says the survey will address a “critical public policy problem”: the increasing shortage of primary care doctors, including specialists in internal medicine and family practice. It will also try to discover whether doctors are accepting patients with private insurance while turning away those in government health programs that pay lower reimbursement rates.

This is a nice pic, but this would be highly unlikily considering they all had very different(and conflicting) views:
- Malcolm was a black nationalist, muslim and anti-zionist
- Martin was a civil rights leader that wanted equality for ALL people and was anti-war
- Obama is partisan politician that supports a zionist state thats oppressing Muslims. His campaign is financed and backed by zionist money and is currently engaged in unauthorized war(Libya)
No way a civil rights leader, a militant anti-zionist Muslim and a partisan politician with zionist ties/backing would all see eye to eye.
But I’ll let y’all dream.
Reblogging for the commentary.

Opposition to Obama's vist

A young Muslim protestor is hauled away following protests outside of Number 10 regarding the US State visit.
Counterproductive, backward, nonsensical fools.
I despise so many US policies. Be it the continuation of drone bombings in Yemen and Pakistan or the rank hypocrisy when it comes to the Israeli-Palestinian question, but what irks me the most about these complete fools (and make no mistake they are cocks of the highest order) is the fact they probably know nothing about the cause of protest.
It’s a facet of protests that is seen all to often in the UK. A minority of hate-filled individuals merely come to these protests to create violence and in doing so further worsen the portrayal of their collectives - whether it’s students fighting for a halt to tuition fee increases, union members demanding a halt to spending cuts or in this scenario, extremist Muslims knowing nothing about the status quo or ironically the peace that their religion preaches.

I love my religion so very much and to see it tarnished by fools who know nothing of it, is a painful sight. They have no concept of peace. They have a pathetic understanding of the compassion that Islam deems so very important, and on top of all of this, they’re televised expressing these views and putting themselves on show to the rest of the world.
Islamophobia is a huge problem, which is driven by paranoia and a lack of understanding of the religion itself. It is irrational and is steeped in narrow-minded individuals. However it is precisely actions such as these that fuel that Islamophobia and to be perfectly honest we need to find the water to put out the fire because the more this antipathy towards Muslims worldwide grows, the more fragmented we become.
Ameen to that, politicaldove. I think a lot of Muslims simply place the blame for Islamophobia on the ignorance of Westerners and whatnot, but we need to recognize that it’s really “Muslims” who are perpetuating this negative perception of Islam. It’s not just Fox News that’s doing this. We need to publicly (but peacefully) condemn the actions of “Islamic” extremists and terrorists.
@followers: This is me, a Muslim in America, publicly (but peacefully) condemning the actions of “Islamic” extremists and terrorists.
